World War I miscellany is an artificially created collection that contains items pertaining to World War I (1914-1918) from 1914 to 1986. The collection includes collected personal material, photographs, and printed material. The first portion of the collection includes material collected from individual soldiers, such as correspondence, memorabilia, scrapbooks, and various postwar related materials, such as reminiscences and photographs. The photograph series includes images and scrapbooks depicting the Western Front, in addition to a selection of photographs taken by Underwood and Underwood for the Elliot News Service in New York, New York. This series also includes French postcards depicting the victory celebration in Paris, France. The printed material includes World War I related booklets, pamphlets, magazines, clippings, posters, and maps, the bulk of which are of France.
